Chris & Helen's Wedding at West Heath in Sevenoaks, Kent

On 4th July Chris & Helen were married at St Peter & St Paul in Seal near Sevenoaks. It was great fun walking from their home, to the hairdresser, and then to the guys in the pub before the final walk across the green to the beautiful church. The weather was absolutely perfect all day long - blue skies and lots of sunshine. Brilliant.

The girls shared champagne during hair and make-up sessions and they were pretty much all present and correct with a few minutes to spare. Nick drove Helen to the church in an absolutely gorgeous Morgan and I was utterly impressed with how Helen managed to get in and out so elegantly. She was greeted by the Revd Anne Le Bas who is a fantastic vicar - a heartfelt ceremony, some great readings and the a super efficient register signing. It was a really lovely church to photograph in... a joy from start to finish.

And then off to West Heath the other side of Sevenoaks and a welcome glass of champagne. Drinks on the terrace and lawn to lovely sounds from the string quartet before doing the group photography. There were quite a few groups but everyone was in very good spirits so it went very smoothly. And finally a few shots of Helen and Chris, and at West Heath I was pretty spoiled for locations - the fabulous red room, the imposing hall, the amazing light through the arches and of course the front of the building along with the cute Morgan. Both were naturals in front of the camera - a sheer joy.

And then to the important business of the meal which really was delicious - what a great caterer and team. They were amazing all day and I was very looked after by them, Marie at West Heath, Helen & Chris of course, plus their families & friends, so thanks guys. It makes it so much more fun when everyone is smiley and helpful. The speeches were brilliant. A beautiful & heartfelt poem from Judi, Chris did a grand speech which produced a tear or two from Helen, and finally 'the boys'... Stef & Ben were hysterical and then Matthew brought the house down with a fabulous limerick. Well done everyone!

Evening guests arrived and Helen & Chris danced alone for a minute or two before dragging people up to dance, and dance they all did! I took one final shot of the happy couple before driving off into the night. Congratulations & I hope that you had a good honeymoon. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow & thanks for making my job such fun. Emma x

UPDATE: I've just said 'goodbye' to Helen & Chris having shown them their photographs. I wanted to find out the names of two of their suppliers - firstly, Helen's dress really was amazing. I've loved every single dress I've ever photographed and this year I've seen some crackers from Suzanne Neville, Jenny Packham, and now Pronovias. What I love about these three designers is that they do their signature style extremely well, they don't compromise, and each and every dress is so unique.

And secondly I thought that the caterer was pretty special and it's Matthew Jennings at Bite Me Catering. The food was spectacular and they have a wicked bar set up too!
