Surrey SATRO Festival of Science & Engineering - Brooklands Museum, Weybridge

Last week I had the pleasure of working with Surrey SATRO at their annual Festival of Science & Engineering at Brooklands Museum in Weybridge, Surrey.

Schools and Colleges from the region (and beyond) exhibited projects which were then judged and prizes were awarded at the end of the day. The children were also given time to quiz two dozen companies who had set up their own 'Working World Marquee'. Seeing the interaction between young and (slightly) old(er) was really exciting.

The Schools and Colleges were also given a tour of Brooklands which is a facinating place and I highly recommend a visit.

Special guest was Jon Tickle of Sky 1's Brainiac who rounded off the very exciting day with some inspirational words.

I had a great time and am very grateful to the staff at Surrey SATRO for their kind hospitality.

P.S. There was one exhibitor called Sleepbreeze and I really wasn't sure what they were demonstrating as I was too busy photographing. I was certainly intrigued by the black caterpillar-like tube, so when I got home I looked the company up. Wow! They make an amazing product that blows cool air over your body at night and is battery or mains operated. Obviously I bought one immediately...

Here's to possibly getting some sleep from tomorrow... this heatwave will probably end the moment I open the package. Here's hoping.
