Fran & Harry's Wedding - 11th August 2007

Back in August I traveled down to Somerset for the wedding of my godfather's daughter, Fran.

It was great that I'd got to know Fran and Harry a bit during our pre-wedding shoot on the Isle of Wight where the two of them met six years ago. It meant that I could concentrate on getting between all of the locations from hotel to church to Moores Farm... a pretty mean feat along several narrow and winding roads.

I'd guess that we had the best weather of any Saturday of the year - the sun shone all day and the sky was cobalt blue... stunning. Preparations went well at the hotel except for the hotel dog walking over Fran's train and veil. They were slightly late to the church but I understand from Abi and Gaby that they arrived to find the guys still in the pub so they moved them pretty sharpish.

The ceremony was absolutely beautiful with sun streaming through the wonderful church at Mells. On exiting the vicar's dog proceeded to walk over Fran's train and veil so it was 'Dogs 2 Fran 0' at this stage. Harry & Fran braved a long confetti walk before getting into their lovely old Rolls Royce and off down to the chapel at the farm. We took a few shots here - an idea put forward pretty early on as Harry was christened there. It was also nice and quiet - just perfect for a few bride & groom portraits.

The guns filled with confetti heralded their entrance to the marquee and after a few group shots everyone took their seats for speeches and a delicious meal. The first dance looked extremely professional but they assure me that was possibly a fluke! I heard that the party went on until the wee morning hours and that Harry didn't look quite as sparkly by the end of it.

On Saturday I saw Harry & Fran for the first time since they got back from Italy where they had a wonderful time. I wish them both a long and happy life together and am really pleased to have been able to share their day with them. Many thanks & lots of love. Emma x
