David & Catherine's Wedding at Amberley Castle near Arundel, West Sussex

I first met David & Catherine in February and when they told me their plans I was pretty excited. A wedding for just family at Amberley Castle and then, two days later, an evening party for friends and extended family at London Zoo. Just perfect. I knew that I was going to enjoy working with them at both venues and I was proved right. I loved every single minute.

The day before at Amberley the sun shone brightly and the sky was a perfect blue with lovely white fluffy clouds. Sadly it didn't hold for the day but it didn't affect anyone's mood - it was joyous from start to finish. I take my hat off to everyone because it rained throughout the group shots and all though David & Catherine's solo session bar the last 5 minutes. Looking at the photographs it's hard to believe that they were getting wet the whole time! Well done guys.

While Catherine was getting ready everyone else went on little trips to Bognor or to the local pub for lunch - it was all very calm and happy. Catherine looked absolutely stunning as she walked from the Castle, through the little door in the Castle wall to meet the vicar waiting the other side at the little church next door. So romantic and made me wonder how many brides would have taken this trip since the Castle was built over 900 years ago. It all felt very Jane Austen. Beautiful.

The service was very personal and full of fun. Sarah & Victoria did lovely readings and the choir kept the volume high throughout the hymns. Back down the aisle and through the little door again to champagne and canapes.

After the groups and their little session I left them all to enjoy was I've since learnt was a delicious meal in the private dining room. [A big up to the staff at Amberley too - from providing me with up to the minute weather reports to showing me around and moving furniture when needed - they were all brilliant]

Onwards to London Zoo which really is a fun venue and the staff are amazing. About 90 people turned up to celebrate the wedding with drinks and a delicious bbq. Lots of crazy dancing to finish of course. What was so funny was having the reception in the 'Outback' zone of the Zoo. Watching the emus chase each other around like lunatics plus the wallabies hanging out was such a giggle.

I made it back home just after midnight - tired but happy. Thanks to you all for being such a joy to work with - very best of luck with your move and work. Keep in touch! Emma x

Update: Here is a draft of David & Catherine's gorgeous album - it has really come together beautifully:

Looking forward to seeing you in August. x
