James & Julie's Wedding - 30th May 2008

So just how mad is this? Again, it rained and rained before James & Julie's wedding... so much so that I had to visit twice in the lead up just to be able to see the venue through the sheets of rain. Julie's family suggested that I was jinxed as it only really started to pour each time I arrived. Anyway, come Friday morning... the weather held, and it held... and then, just as they came out of the church, the sun shone... Amazing.

I started at Julie's house where the final touches were being put to the most lovely marquee set up with four long tables seating 36 people each, greenery everywhere, and the caterers preparing for a fantastic afternoon. The garden looked stunning. Julie was very chilled having had breakfast with Claire & Eve. She got ready with minimum fuss helped by Mrs C, and at the church James seemed pretty relaxed too. The service went without a hitch.

Back at the house the sights, sounds & smells were amazing with a wonderful bluegrass band welcoming the guests to the party. After a drinks reception everyone sat down for a delicious meal followed by great speeches from Mr C, James and finally Dave. A brilliant video of James' Radio 1 colleagues had everyone rolling in the aisles.

And finally, boogieing away to the Masqueraders until midnight - fabulous. Thanks for looking after me with lovely food and very special lemonade - you all made it crazy fun!

P.S. Thanks for yummy champagne and card with lovely words - it was great to see you both looking so happy. x
